THE EVENT FORMAT AND RULES

The following rules apply to most qualifying events, all Regional Finals and the National Final. Some variations may occur in certain qualifying events.

1. The event is for teams of four males and/or females. They must be over the age of 18 and be members of any affiliated rugby body. These include rugby clubs, referees societies, county associations, etc, and any other recognised group affiliated to rugby union. In the case fo rugby clubs, golfers may be playing, social, or administrative members. All players must have a recognised golf handicap.

2. There is no limit to the number of teams each club/body may enter.

3. The format for all stages of the competition will be Stableford, playing off 3/4 handicap. Ladies will receive courtesy shots.

4. The teams will play as two pairs, each playing with a pair from another club. The combined better-ball score of the two pairs will count as the team total.

5. In the event of a tie or ties at any stage of the competition, there will be a countback on the back nine on the card.

6. There will be a maximum of 25 teams at each of the qualifiers.

Conventional golfing attire will be required throughout and players will be expected to produce a current handicap certificate.
