"Every club should enter a team."
Peter Wheeler of Leicester Tigers.

"I'll be on the driving range in a desparate attempt to get into my club's team" - John Inverdale, journalist and broadcaster.
The Park (formerly Tracey Park) located near Bath was the venue for the second time for the West Country Regional Final. The course was in good condition and a reflection of the recent weather meant that there was little roll on shots. However, the day stayed bright and dry throughout, with a stiff breeze to test the competitors.
Third place on the day was taken by Chipping Sodbury RFC Team 3 with 73 points, who won Wooden Spoon umbrellas and a RAM match ball and kicking tee for their club. Second prize went to Worcester RFC Team 2 with 76 points who won Wooden Spoon feather bags and 2 RAM balls & tees for their club. The winners were Tadley RFC with 77 points. Messrs Bartlett, Wilkins, Choules & Kinniburgh went home with 3 RAM match balls & tees for their club and Wooden Spoon’s new Callaway sports bag each for themselves.
The top three teams qualified for the National Final at Walton Heath GC on Friday 17 October together with Chipping Sodbury’s Team 1.
Paul Montanaro of Banbury RFC carried off the case of Laithwaites wine in the raffle.
Sadly, the 2007 National Champions, Millfield Old Boys were eliminated at The Park, but promised to return in 2009.
Thank you to all who participated and good luck to those in the National Final.
